Comics like that is an exhibition about experimental comics, presented by four comic artists, namely, Lai Chung Man Andio, Man Chak Hong, Lau Kwong Shing and Chan Cheuk Nam Jerry. They were intrigued to explore the new possibilities of comics by looking at its essence and unique aesthetics. Let’s see what they could find between the traditional comic industry and Avant-Garde comics.

In this exhibition, artists try to analyse the concept of comics and to reconstruct the practice of it. Some of the art works are in mixed medium beyond the limitation of paper so as to maximise the power of comic language. Besides, there are a series of additional events including public discussion, workshop and performance, etc. We hope to bring audience to get into the art of comics and to appreciate it with new horizons.

It is our pleasure to invite a local comic artist Mr. Kong Kee and a comic lecturer Mr. Lai Pak Lok to be the guest speakers respectively of two talks. It will be the discussion about contemporary comics and share their observation on the development of comic industry as well as what they are looking forward to in the future.

In the workshop, Lau Kwong Shing will invite participants to draw and improvise in an organic way. By this to explore the interesting linkage between co-operative creation and personal creation.
