Rumbling Roads Exhibition by Alexandre Cornet and Guillaume Cornet
ODD ONE OUT is proud to present Rumbling Roads, a collaboration exhibition by Guillaume Cornet and Alexandre Cornet. Guillaume is returning after previously well received shows in Hong Kong, Alex will be showing in Hong Kong for the first time.
Both brothers are trying to capture the hectic life of Hong Kong. Guillaume has a surrealist style based around architecture, with animals and characters invoking a yourthful imagination, whereas Alex projects a highly excessive visual space and extremely chaotic cyberpunk Hong Kong.
Born in Paris, educated in the UK at the Camberwell College of Art and now residing in Peru, Alex Cornet’s work is heavily influenced by travel and the world around him.
Living as a foreigner, he has a different sense of observation to many, and is attentive and fascinated by the vernacular traces of life in a city, its unregulated and random activity and the antiheroes of the underground. He works to expose the freedom, simpleness and beauty he finds it in. Alexandre has exhibited in group shows in London, Lima and Los Angeles and held his first solo exhibition in Lima, Peru, in January 2017 with a stainless steel totem made of 66 masks entirely fabricated by him. Alexander is exhibiting in Hong Kong for the first time.
Guillaume Cornet is a French artist and illustrator living in London and known for his meticulously detailed, hand-drawn scenes packed with thousands of things to spot. His artwork has been exhibited internationally and he has worked on projects for the BBC, Pentagram, Nike and many more.
